about the blogger

I began writing The Permanent Tourist in February 2013.  Since then my life has grown beyond measure and changed in ways I never dreamed possible.  I have met some of the most interesting people, stayed on private islands, enjoyed festivals, art exhibits and culinary events throughout the year.  What began on St. Simons Island in Georgia’s Golden Isles is now continuing as I make a new home in the New Orleans area.

I embrace the life and the meaning of being The Permanent Tourist.  I am surrounded by another beautiful part of our vast country filled with rich culture, history and I don’t even have to tell you about the cuisine of Louisiana!  I’m loving the gentle accent, the welcoming nods and smiles and I’m excited to share my experiences here with you as I settle into my new life.

The Permanent Tourist
continues to be my gift to readers everywhere.  I’ll be sharing the rich Cajun/Creole history and culture of this bayou state, the stories people share, the amazing events and restaurants and……PARADES!  In New Orleans there is always a reason to celebrate life!  So let the good times roll, or as it is said locally, “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler”!
